How much choice do Americans have for health insurance providers at the present time?

Doesn’t it depend on what state you are in whether you have more than one or two choices?
Correctamundo!
I live in a urban California city and I really can only pick from 3 companies who basically share information and charge about the same.

if you think we do not have a choice now

They don’t have any choices unless it’s a high end private insurance

Most employers don’t offer more than one or two plans. Within those plans you are also restricted.

Your employer will only offer you a few. Look online for health care insurance..there are many.

My employer offers 3 different plans but most Americans can get good insurance through a number of private insurance companies on their own. They just aren’t willing to pay the deductible. I think catastrophic insurance is really all most people need and they don’t understand that because they want every single thing covered. Sometimes I think people who say they can’t afford insurance think those of us with it aren’t paying for doctor visits. I have to pay for pretty much every checkup, blood test, x-ray etc. Insurance is piece of mind for a major illness, cancer, accident or surgery. Not for getting a free trip to the doctor for a sore throat.
